How to deal with the deformation of precision casting

During the production of precision casting, the casting will be deformed due to some hardware facilities, casting cooling and correction, etc., so how to deal with the casting deformation?

Casting deformation is divided into: micro - self - deformation, flaring deformation and warping deformation.

Trace self-deformation: gray cast iron is most prone to trace self-deformation.The residual thermal stress of gray cast iron can be found after sand fall cleaning.

Flaring deformation: the reason is that the sand core or sand mold at the opening size hinders the shrinkage of the casting and causes plastic deformation of the open free structure part of the casting, thus resulting in flaring deformation defects.   

Warping deformation: warping deformation occurs at both ends or one end or even the outer end of the casting after sand cleaning, which makes the central part of the casting concave and leads to uneven casting. This type of deformation is called warping deformation.The reason for this is that when the casting is cooled, the thickness or thickness of the casting is uneven and there is temperature difference, which results in the different cooling speed of each part of the casting and the uneven plastic deformation, resulting in the warping deformation.

For the deformation problem of precision casting, the small series here provides four related Suggestions and measures:

1. Find the mold and preset it in the wax chamber before the wax injection, and do not start the wax injection until the mold temperature is the same as the room temperature of the wax injection chamber;As for the back of the shell when the wax temperature is not to mention.

2. After the wax part comes out, it shall be first inspected by itself, mainly to check whether there is deformation or other defects in the lifting engineering;Wax should be placed in a uniform way and avoid overlap and suspension.It is suggested to use jig inspection as far as possible to improve the inspection speed and accuracy and to calibrate the jig according to a certain period.

3, after the furnace, the module temperature is still very high when the overlap should be avoided, do regular placement, so that the deformation direction is consistent for plastic correction fashion clip.

4. The fixture for correcting casting shall be made of hard material with a wear-resistant surface. For parts with large area, the tonnage of the press or punch shall be calculated reasonably to avoid waste of equipment or insufficient strength.

Precision castings have a great impact on the performance of mechanical products. The poor quality of precision castings will seriously affect the service life of mechanical products. Therefore, once the deformation of precision castings is found, timely correction should be carried out to avoid the impact of precision castings on the performance of mechanical products.
