John Deere, Inc. (NYSE: JDeere) reported revenue of $12.1 billion for fiscal 2021 (from October 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021), a 30% increase over the same period last year.FY2021 revenue is up 25% to $21.2 billion.
"While the company's performance is clearly at a high level, John Deere expects supply chain pressures to intensify throughout the remainder of the year."Chairman and CEO John C. May said in the statement, "We are working closely with our key suppliers to ensure that our customers provide the necessary parts for production and infrastructure.Despite these challenges, John Deere is on track for a strong year.We believe we can create even greater value for our customers and other stakeholders in the future."
Net revenue increased by $1.8 billion in the second quarter of fiscal 2021.For the second quarter of fiscal 2020, net revenue was $666 million.Net revenue for the first half of the current fiscal year (from October 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021) was $3 billion, compared to $1.2 billion for the same period in fiscal 2020.The Construction Machinery and Agricultural Machinery segment reported net sales of $3.1 billion in the second quarter of fiscal 2021, up 36% from $2.3 billion in the same period last year.Operating profit jumped $489 million, or 409%, from $96 million in the second quarter of fiscal 2020.John Deere attributed the increase to higher shipments, trading volumes, price realisation and the beneficial impact of foreign currency conversion.
