A memorable smile of a Mother

Wearing a smile,
Holding hands not for a while but for life.
Just like a mother do to their child!!!

“If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.
Do not wait for leaders; do it alone, person to person and
Peace begins with a smile,” were the rule of lifefor this lady who earned the title of “Mother.”

Mother Teresa, from the community of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta was a very simple girl like anyone of us, but her workings were out of box.She was an ethnic Albanian who was named as Anjeze Gonxhe Bojaxhiu in which gonxhe means ‘rosebud’ or ‘little flower’ in Albanian. (So apt to her behaviour). From 1910 to 2015 every child is aware of the deeds performed by her and for the people. We have been listening to angel stories from childhood she was the real example of them. She was the angel on Earth for all those small babies who had tears in their life. She was the saviour of life for her wholehearted free service to the poorest of poor. Her Missionaries of Charity, a Roman Catholic religious congregation, which in 2012 consisted of over 4,500 sisters and is active in 133 countries, is one such great work done by her.

All the work resulted her to be honoured in the form of Nobel Peace Prize, by every individual across the world. Peace is one such word, which can be found anywhere or cannot be searched even when moving from East to West or from North to South. So, her belief was that Peace is eternal and is present within an individual, just one has to peep inside themselves. The only mother who cared so much for her children born of different parents.

I know all these information are available with the very talented person on Earth (Google) but every time we say about Mother Teresa adds more stars to her. We wish on her 105th birthday by taking a step to learn not from all her qualities but at least from one of her quality and make it ours!

This Bihari truly wins our Heart

We know we won’t be the first person to write something about this movie as the media has already scrutinised each and every bit of it. But still I am quite excited to share my part of experience. According to the reports “Manjhi-The Mountain Man” opened to low responses on the first day at the box office. And it had to happen as the movie already got leaked on Torrent sites before its release. But still when I went to see the movie after two days of its release the theatre was quite filled up with people. But it can also be the Sunday effect.

Nevertheless coming to the movie:

What went wrong?

  • Though Radhika Apte is quite strong when it comes to acting but casting her in “Manjhi-The Mountain Man” as a girl from Bihar was a miscast. The accent didn’t go well with her personality. The dialogues just came out as a by hearted script. To be frank in my mind I just had Richa Chadda and her amazing accent in Gangs of Wasseypur in my mind.
  • What’s wrong with marketing ?– Though I know some film makers believe that their content is just enough to promote the movie but a better marketing strategy can help incur the loss that the film faced after it got leaked by Internet Torrent Mafia King ICTV on Torrent sites before the Initial launch of the movie.

What we loved in the movie, yes of course apart from Nawazuddin Siddiqui:

  • The dialogues of the film were one hit chunk of the movie contributing a lot to make the scenes impactful.
  • The supporting cast- It’s always a delight to watch Tigmanshu Dhulia and Pankaj Tripathi on screen. Though he dies
  • The screenplay and the background score was also one of the areas where “Manjhi – The Mountain Man” scored the most. Adding to the effect were its songs which were perfectly blended with the style and script of the movie.

Final words:

I don’t want to say the same thing again, that make sure you watch this movie. It is as rather shocking when I saw Times of India has rated “Manjhi- The Mountain Man”, “Brothers” and “All is well” all the three movies with equal stars which I know majority of you won’t agree and same is my situation. But if you are the person who appreciates content in place of baseless remakes and masala movies then do watch “Manjhi- the Mountain Man”.

Will Pakistan yet again be proven wrong?

The leader of the D-Company is sleeping in Karachi. This is what has been revealed by an Indian news channel. But after so many evidences still Pakistan is refusing of giving shelter to Dawood Ibrahim, (we all are aware of his designation).

The person who wants to know everything keeping Nation at his stake has again created a buzz by breaking the news about the current location of Dawood Ibrahim. Times Now reporters traced the phone number and called Ibrahim’s wife, Mehjabeen Shaikh in Karachi and asked whether she was indeed his wife Mehjabeen Shaikh. After an affirmative reply she said Ibrahim was asleep.

On questioning about evidences, Defence expert Major General (retd.) S.R. Sinho nicknamed Pakistan as “liar”. Giving them the proof about the photographs of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim published in Hindustan Times recently. Earlier, many times Pakistan’s Ministers like Musharraf refused of Dawood’s stay in Pakistan. But the current phone call conversation also, cannot be ignored. The agencies also have documents that show that Dawood’s family members travelled between Pakistan and Dubai. They also have images of Dawood’s Pakistani passport. And many other evidences like the some from the list of 15 houses owned by Dawood are based in Karachi.

Pakistan’s Attorney is in big danger now as the fingers are raised on them again and again. We have been witnessed the same kind of situation at the time of Osama Bin Laden who was residing near Army headquarters. Similarly, in spite of all the evidence given by India, Pakistan denied having any facts against Hafeez Sayeed and Lakhvi.

While the trail of proofs goes on between Pakistan’s rulers who for the past two decades denied the presence of the heads of crime syndicate, Indian security agencies say that the D-company reaches across the border into India for its extortion activities. This denial issue will only meet its end if we are able to prove our point which can only happen when Dawood Ibrahim is caught red handed in Pakistan.

[box]By Sandeep [/box]

Is it for style or For Respect

On the eve of 15th August every school, offices, shops organised functions, decorated their walls with tricolours. The entire country was in full swing of patriotism.  But what about it’s after effects? Everybody gets fully engrossed in decorations, nobody ever thinks about what will happen to those stuff. After the ‘D Day’ is over all gets dumped in the dustbin. The same goes with our flag. It is just a one day use after that one can see flags lying on the road near garbage. All respect gets crushed under the running vehicles.

On the other hand when we look about the Pre buzz for Independence Day, the only patriotic word was Selfie. Every other day one word is attached with selfie title. The next on the list and the most current one was #SaluteSelfie. When 15th August was near, India began to gear for the annual celebrations of freedom won at the stroke of midnight in the year 1947.

But beyond the usual celebrations, it is important to try and follow the mood of the people to understand how we feel about the day and what it means to us. The older generation, especially those born around 1947 still feel a strong sense of connecting and belonging to the struggle that their parents had to go through to achieve freedom from British rule, but for the younger generation of today, what significance does 15th August hold beyond a holiday is- The time to THINK and create CHANGE by following the trend of #SaluteSelfie.

I would like to end with few questions that need to be solved by We Indians!

Had the army fought for only one day to make us Independent?

Is the respect and pride for only a day?

A Wishy-Washy debate

#lalitgate- it has been almost two months since we are hearing this word and till date no conclusion has been found in this case. The same has been the reason for the Lok Sabha debate on this topic. Don’t know, how many of our MPs were present during the debate and how many of them were not absent minded?

Leaving behind the other primary problems to debate in India this #lalitgate was of the top most priority. Health Insurance scheme for disabled person bill, food and drought control bill, national food security bill, prevention of girl trafficking etc have been the few examples of the bills still pending in the Loksabha. But instead of showing light on these issues the debate was on something which had no base and no way to where it is going.

The war went on and on between Congress’ Vice President Rahul Gandhi and India’s foreign minister  Sushma Swaraj, which diverted from their main agenda of knowing the reason behind the birth of what lalitgate was all about. Bombardment of dialogues in the Lok Sabha is not a new thing to see but yes the appropriate dialogue aimed at the right person was something to stick to. Arun Jaitley quoted Rahul Gandhi as “He is expert without knowledge. Sushma Swaraj straightaway, made fun of Rahul by telling him to go back and read their patriarchal history of corruption stories. And not leaving the most awaited dialogue of the day “The Nation Wants to know” by

Sushma. Later-on like all other debate is not completed till it has an authentication of showing on Arnab Goswami’s Prime time show, this lalitgate hour was also not a hit. With Arnab shouting over to the panellist about the reason why Sushma used his patent dialogues and why not gave the answer of all relevant questions which nation wants to know.

Like any other debate on the news hour, this one too ended without any conclusion and in a big fight without any reason. Just a halla-bol show Lok Sabha debate was no better than the content for News Hour debate!!!

Pakistan Sex Scandal

Pakistan has been battling with numerous issues. The internal crisis in Pakistan has gone to new heights with the future of Pakistan being grim. The recent child abuse case in the village of Husain Khanwala and other villages in Kasur district of Punjab province is said to be one of the largest ever child abuse case.

The case came to light last week after 400 video recordings of more than 280 children being forced to have sex was discovered. Many were beaten and drugged and forced to indulge in Oral sex.

The case involves nearly 300 children who were forced to indulge in various sexual acts by a gang of almost 25 youths from the village. The act has also been recorded. It is a clear case of pedophilia. This is not the first time in the country. Pakistan experienced a similar tragedy in the late 1990s when 100 children were sexually abused and murdered in Lahore by Javed Iqbal Mughal, a serial killer.

Several questions have been put forth by the incident. Most importantly the heinous act of Pedophilia comes to light again. Time and again the innocence of numerous across the globe have been murdered by the mental disorder of the accused.

The issue is not limited to just one country, it is a global problem that needs to be dealt with utter sensitivity.

In 2006, the Britain’s one of the worst pedophile was sentenced to 20 years in jail. Robert Smith admitted that over 30 years he had preyed 21 children many of which were toddlers. He raped them and used them as sex playthings. Many of his victims developed serious mental disorders.

This is just an example from a country. The internet is flooded with articles on worst cases of pedophilia from around the globe. According to a report in International Business Times, the top 5 countries with the highest rate of sexual abuse are South Africa, India, Zimbabwe, United Kingdom and the United States respectively.

The idea to write this article is to instigate the thought that Pedophilia is a serious disorder that needs to be discussed. As a journalist, I encountered several problems in writing a story on pedophilia.

It is difficult to recognize who is suffering from the disorder. Moreover, I realized that the social stigma with the disorder is so much that pedophile finds it hard to discuss it and find a solution.

A pedophile needs a lot of self-control and counseling to refrain from entering into any act of pedophilia. Therefore, it is necessary that the society remove the blot and help a pedophile deal with it rather than leaving him in seclusion to turn into an offender.

If it is Pakistan today, it can be India also. We need to understand that seclusion and secrecy have higher chances of a crime being committed. As a society, it is our responsibility to provide each child a social security. Such acts only push these children to utter darkness leaving an impression on their tender minds.

Menstruating while you are running a marathon? Painful isn’t?

Kiran Gandhi, a Harvard graduate had trained hard for the London Marathon. But a day before the Marathon she realized she was going to be on her period. Though at first she decided to drop it but later she realized how important the marathon was for her and for the society. So breaking all the social obstacles, Kiran thought of stepping out and completed the entire 26.2 miles marathon.

In her blog, she writes, “I got my flow the night before and it was a total disaster, but I didn’t want to clean it up. It would have been way too uncomfortable to worry about a tampon for 26.2 miles. I thought, if there’s one person society won’t fuck with, it’s a marathon runner. If there’s one way to transcend oppression, it’s to run a marathon in whatever way you want. On the marathon course, sexism can be beaten. Where the stigma of a woman’s period is irrelevant, and we can re-write the rules as we choose. I ran with blood dripping down my legs for sisters who don’t have access to tampons and sisters who, despite cramping and pain, hide it away and pretend like it doesn’t exist. I ran to say, it does exist, and we overcome it every day. The marathon was radical and absurd and bloody in ways I couldn’t have imagined until the day of the race”.

Though the whole talk was quite inspiring for me, but my most favourite moment was when I came to know that her father and brother also participated in the marathon to support her. When I had my first period it was so embarrassing for me to go in front of my father but when I hear something like this, it’s truly inspiring.

KRK’s Box office

How many of us remember Kamaal Rashid Khan (KRK) from Bigg Boss 3 who got huge attention from his poem “Jackwa and Jillwa”, (his version of Jack and Jill). After that show his friends following numbers grew immediately. Now again he is making noise with his KRK Box Office reviews. He is self-proclaimed film critic and rate his review on the number of person watched it. No doubt he is the most creative reviewer but social network has given its hand too to make him famous in any part of world.

He is such a person who got his name by his notorious acts like telling the reason of Vidya Balan’s being famous in the movie Dirty Picture. People like him for his non sense one liner which he uses in his every tweet like 2 Rs people. Other than that he is again in news with his tweets on Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal’s love for watching movies. Twitter is flooded with the messages on #Kejrimovies, where everyone is giving their opinion. But KRK is busy playing with emotions of CM. I think he must be afraid that may be Kejriwal will take his role of film critic.

Don’t forget to see the number of re tweets and number of people who have added his comment as favourites.

A journalist’s pen is one that makes and breaks a person, in the same way Social media is such platform which brings a person in limelight or dumps them. KRK is one such who has got almost 1.04 million followers and only 11 following on twitter whereas that of Rajeev Masand, real film critic has 688 followers only. Rest depends on you whom you want to choose and why?
